8
MOWGLI Kick-Off

10
The meeting will be held on Friday, 15 March 2002 at the
11 Max Planck
12 Institute for Gravitational Physics / Albert Einstein Institute
13 in Golm near Potsdam. The institute can
14 be easily reached from Berlin via public transport or car. Please check
15 our institute's
16 homepage for maps and information how to reach the institute from
17 several destinations in Berlin.

20
Accomodation can be arranged in a hotel nearby, within walking distance
21 from the institute (singles 62 Euro, doubles 86 Euro). Since the
22 reservation needs to be made very soon, please let me know how many
23 people are attending from your node, indicating day of arrival and day
24 of departure. A copy of this message should be sent to
25 Mrs. Ute
26 Schlichting, who is taking care of the
27 reservations. However, if you prefer to organize a stay in Berlin, you

37
AGENDA & SOCIAL EVENTS

38
The agenda for the meeting is currently in preparation. Of course,
39 suggestions are very welcome. The current tentative agenda is:

41
short presentation of the partners
42 (15 m. each).

43
Consortium Agreement.
44 I will send you a draft asap, and we may
45 discuss possible amendments by email; it would be nice to have it
46 signed for the kick-off.
47 This point should take almost no time, unless there are major
48 issue - e.g on copyrights or background proprietary technologies
49 which have not been solved by email)

50
Project Roles and Bodies.
55
Project Manager (that should be Prof. Andrea Asperti)

56
Eploitation and Dissemination Manager (that should be Bernd)

57
Work-package leaders (the leader should belong to the site
58 responsible of the Work-package)

63
Project Coordination Committee (PCC) one for each site + the
64 Project Manager (and the EDM ?)

65
Project Dissemination Board
66 one for each site + the EDM (and the PM?)

67
Workpackage teams (even for WP0)

71 We can fix all the roles by email, if you agree. We shall set
72 up specialized mailing lists for each body (if required).
73 Of course the roles may largely overlap, but in any case we need
74 people who can promtly react. You may already start sending me the
75 relevant information (comprising email, telephone, etc.).

76
Scheduling and location of the first
77 and the second meeting.
78 The second meeting (and annual review) should be in Bologna
79 from February 19 to February 20 (just after MKM 2003).
80 Since KUN is responsible for WP1, I would suggest to do the
81 first meeting in Nijmegen (july/august)

82
Deliverables for the first six
84 We have three kinds of deliverables:
86
Technical:
87 1.a, 1.b, 1.c, 2.a (1.3 should be ready at month 3).
89 The only software here is the exportation module 2.a (that will
90 require some joint effort between Bologna and Rocquencourt and
91 a sufficiently stable version of COQ). This is a point to be
92 discussed in the kick-off.

93
Managemant:
94 0.a (self assesment parameters and criteria)

95
Dissemination:
96 7.a (Dissemination and use plan).

98 I would expect each site responsible for the deliverable suggest
99 a procedure and a precise scheduling for collecting material,
100 distributing the work and preparing the draft.
101 The draft should be ready some time (15 days?) before the deadline,
102 to get approval by the PCC.
103 We should also probably agree on the format of these deliverables
106 Any other technical issue relative to the preparation of these
107 deliverables should be discussed during the Kick-off.

108
MOWGLI web site.
109 We are setting up the MOWGLI web site and a CVS repository.
110 We plan to have a first prototype for the kick-off, and we may discuss
111 its design and functionalities there. We could possibly need a few
112 administrative document to grant you an access to the CVS repository
113 (we have to check).

114
Other?

117
TECHNICAL FACILITIES

118
Full network access is provided, as well as the usual presentation
119 facilities (Video Projector, Overhead projector).
